I had a plan for creating a portable business. It was something I thought was possible, but didn’t know anyone else who was really doing it. Not a real person anyway. And I knew I needed to amp up my marketing skills in a big way.

I had followed Laura Roeder for a while, and had seen the slightly quieter launch of the 2010 class, wanted to sign up, but it conflicted with something else I was working on. But here’s the big thing. When I saw how much fun Laura was having with Marie. Creating completely outrageous music videos & enjoying life, I knew this was the program for me.

What I didn’t know, and probably could have never predicted, is that I would meet some of my very closest friends, by taking the leap and jumping into B-School on that winter day.

• Friends who really get what it’s like to have a crazy dream for a slightly unconventional business.
• Friends who support me when I’m launching a new program offering.
• Friends who mirror back to me my best qualities and help me refine what and how I can best be of service.
• 
• Friends I can bounce ideas off of, cry with when things are frustrating and invite to stay at my home. Real, true friends.

For me, it was one of the best bonuses ever. But, I want to tell you a bit about the rest of B-School, although I’m sure you’ve heard stories from other people. The online world is a-buzz with Marie Forleo marketing this month, every single year.

One of the big reasons, of course, is that Marie offers a very lucrative affiliate program. And it’s a great marketing strategy, unless you’re a consumer who is feeling bombarded, of course. I get that! It can be a bit much after a while. But if you’re in business (and you probably wouldn’t be reading this far if you aren’t), you have to admit it’s a fairly clever marketing strategy.  Share a portion of your sales price & have other people do the heavy lifting. In this case, even offer bonuses to match or exceed the value of the course price. It’s very clever.
