Seriously! This has to change tomorrow ~ or we’ll be in big time trouble.

Can you say Procrastination?

This week so many amazing things have happened, but if I don’t get these items listed for sale & ready for people to pick up by Friday next week, we’re going to have a very, very different moving experience than originally planned.

I’m also hoping to put up an extra page on the website here that shows where we’re traveling, how & what we’re bringing with us.  The answers I’m asked most frequently. But in the meantime, I thought I’d include a short version of it here.

Most Frequently Asked Questions:

“Where’s your first stop?”  (or “What’s next?”)

And my answer is consistenltly, “I don’t know!”

Of course, that’s not entirely true.  We are taking a few days to completely unplug.  No phone, internet and probably no power of any kind.  Simply hanging out at the hots springs for a few days. And then back to a place within cell phone range, but hopefully still somewhere in nature, just to give it a try for a while.  We’ll do this as long as we can, or until our first house sitting gig.

Speaking of house-sitting.  If you have a lead for us, we’re always taking requests.  I’ll send back a message with some questions for you (good things to know if we’re a good match to watch your home or care for your pets)

“Is this a travel adventure? How will you earn an income?”

We’re both fully employed, but our work is almost all done remotely.  More about my work at

“Do you have a mortgage?”

The answer is NO!  We don’t own, although we were in a lease & we found someone to sublet for Sept 1st.  It’s part of the reason for this huge rush.  We live within walking distance from a University, and our unit is in high demand this month.  It would have been much simpler to take a bit more time to prepare, but sometimes it’s good to have a short deadline.

This is almost always followed with…

You’re lucky!  We couldn’t do this because we have a mortgage, 2 kids, a dog & I couldn’t leave my job!”

Maybe it’s true!  But I believe that if you really want something, you’ll find a way to do it.  We’ve sacrificed things in order to live this lifestyle.  There are things that we’d love to keep, but the desire for this experience is so deep that we’re willing to do everything we can to make this work.

On that note, I’m getting back to work!

Until tomorrow…
