== Biography ==Jane was born to James Goodale (Goodall) and Elizabeth Barber in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England, United Kingdom in 1813.
When she was 25 years old she married Thomas Waling whose first wife had recently passed away, leaving him with 3 young children.
They had 9 more children before leaving England and moving to the United States where they had their last 2 children in Illinois.
They farmed in Illinois until the death of Thomas when she moved Indiana, likely with her oldest son John Goodale Waling and his wife, where they settled in Newton, Indiana.

She died in 1898 in Newton, Indiana when she was 85 years old.

'''Obituary'''Mrs. Jane Goodale Waling was born in England January 6th 1813. Married Thomas Waling in 1837. Removed to America 1856. Settled in Illinois. In 1874 removed to Indiana near Foresman. Mother of twelve children, eight boys, and four girls. Joined the Methodist church in her 10th year and continued a member until her death. July 31 1898 at the age of 85 years. She was a church member for about 75 years. A noble Christian, leaving a clear testimony of her faith in God. The funeral service was conducted in the Methodist Episcopal Church by Pastor Albert G Detch. The Scripture reference was "I am the Resurrection and the Life." == Biography ==Thomas was born in 1798 to Thomas John Wayling and Ann Clark in Wisbech, Cabridgeshire, England. He had 8 siblings.
When he was 22 years old he married Acres Woods and they had 6 children. Unfortunately, four of those children died before they were 2 years old. Their mother also lost her own mother during that time. She died a few years later, when she was 36.
Thomas remarried in 1839 to Jane Goodale. They had 9 children and when he was about 55 the family moved from England to the United States where he purchased a plot of land in Peotone, Will, Illinois. He lived there until he was 73 when he passed away in 1871.
