WordPress “How to” for $5

by | Nov 24, 2011 | Business

(Black Friday Special Today 2011-11-24 – 50% off hosting at HostGator)

Do you want /need a new website but the cost of hiring a designer is overwhelming? Would a WordPress “How To” be the answer to your prayers? Would you like to have your company ranked high in Google? Do you find terms like HTML and SEO somewhat confusing?

Todays post is different than my usual conversation about running a profitable business. Instead, I’m making an offer to help you with something really tangible.  Something that a lot of entrepreneurs really need help with, but are often confused  with the ‘next steps’, and what costs are involved.  Setting up a basic website!

I’ve helped dozens of entrepreneurs get their new website started in 1 day** with WordPress, but I’m also just a regular business owner like you.

My personal goal is to help another 25 get started for $5/person before the end of November (I know that sounds nuts, but these companies give me a kickback for ‘starter incentives’ because they know you’ll love the service and stay with them a LONG time – I’ve been a customer over 5 years now). So I’ve hatched a little plan… that goes something like this.

Well, exactly like this.

If you are willing to purchase your domain hosting and server hosting through my referral link, I’ll help you in a 4 hour workshop this month (for free). Do some research yourself and see that these companies are reputable. But before signing up, make sure to come back and click on my referral link so I can see you’ve registered.

Here are the steps to make sure you can work with me to get your website up and running before the end of the month:

  1. Do your personal research re: Hostgator & 1and1.com
  2. Come back here to register through my link for your domain name
  3. Come back here and click on the URL for Hostgator
  4. Send me an email with a copy of your receipt so that I can include you in one of 3 classes this month.

I look forward to working with you.

**NOTE: (a website is a work in progress, like a business plan. Getting started means it can be live & available for people to view – but still a work in progress!)

Step 1 – Do your own research to make sure this is right for you.

Step 2 – Registering a Domain Name

Choose a great domain name at GoDaddy.com or 1and1.com (they’re currently selling .com addresses for only $4.99 for the first year)
Become Successful with 1&1 Web Hosting

Step 3 – Purchase Hosting Service

I’ve personally used Hostgator for 5 years and love their customer service. You can get started today for only 1 penny
Note: They have program that’s 4.95 per month, but I recommend the 9.95 Baby Croc program. It includes unlimited domains, and the ability to upload bigger files, like recordings of your teleseminars, or PDF reports you may want to offer to your clients.

-Or choose BlueHost for 6.95/month

Once you’ve completed these first few steps, send me a message. I’ll send you an invitation to attend a 4 hour Workshop (a small group who are all working on their WordPress websites at the same time – it’s a great community of people supporting each other while working on their project)
